St. George jumped out to an early lead on St. Joseph and captured a 12-2 victory on Tuesday at Forest Rd.
Seven runs in the first three innings allowed St. George to put the game away early.
St. George hit four home runs in the win. Home runs for St. George came when Peters homered in the third inning, Walt Patrylo homered in the fifth inning, James Richey homered in the sixth inning, and Frederick Wustefeld homered in the sixth inning.
Peters racked up six RBIs on three hits for St. George.
St. George easily handled St. Joseph pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 11 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
Scoreboard operators were busy at Farley on Tuesday as St. Matthew and St. Wolfgang combined for 35 runs. St. Matthew eventually won the offensive battle 21-14 in six innings.
The teams totaled 44 hits, including 10 extra base hits in the game.
Eighteen runs in the first three innings helped St. Matthew blow out St. Wolfgang. An RBI single by Michael McKenna, a two-run triple by Chris San Jaun, an RBI single by Pat Nigro, an RBI single by Joseph Tilocca, a three-run triple by John Stueck, and a two-run single by Rich Reich in the first inning and a two-run single by Ed Fernandez, a three-run triple by Tilocca, an RBI single by John Stueck, and an RBI triple by Reich during the second inning helped St. Matthew put some runs on the board early.
San Jaun racked up three RBIs on three hits for St. Matthew.
Anthony Blasi racked up five RBIs on three hits for St. Wolfgang. He doubled in the fourth inning and tripled in the first and sixth innings.
St. Matthew easily handled St. Wolfgang pitching as six hitters combined for 19 hits, 17 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
The top of the first saw St. Wolfgang take an early lead, 2-0. A triple by Blasi, plating Brian Weber started the inning off. St. Wolfgang pushed more runs across when Blasi scored on an RBI single by Peter Chemidlin.
St. Wolfgang staved off St. John Paul II as St. John Paul II was unable to match St. Wolfgang down the stretch.
St. John Paul II scored on a groundout by Joe McEvoy in the fifth inning and a solo home run by Thomas Ulichny in the sixth inning. Still, St. John Paul II couldn't draw even.
It was a good day at the plate for St. Wolfgang's Movsesian. Movsesian went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run.
St. John Paul II jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A two-run blast by Bryan Healey, scoring Louis Balestriere started the inning off.
