John Junguenet racked up three RBIs on three hits for St. Vincent. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and homered in the fourth inning.
Bob Mcguiness racked up three RBIs on two hits for St. Francis. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.
St. Vincent tacked on another two runs in the second. The inning got off to a hot start when Jerry Russo homered. That was followed up by Hopler's single, bringing home Junguenet.
Three St. Francis runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the fifth, making the score 9-4. A three-run double by Mcguiness triggered St. Francis' comeback. But, Hopler got Mike Kozlowski to fly out to end the inning.
A one-run sixth inning helped bring St. Francis within four. An RBI single by Ron Labin gave St. Francis life. Finally, Hopler induced an inning-ending fly out from Chris Nardi.
The bats were busy at Forest Rd on Tuesday, and when the dust cleared St. Joseph had a 15-8 win over St. George in seven innings.
The teams totaled 43 hits, including 12 extra base hits in the game.
St. Joseph beat St. George thanks to 24 hits, including six extra base hits. St. Joseph scored six runs in the fifth on St. Joseph scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Gus Alvarez, an RBI single by Nashad Warfield, a three-run double by Brendan McNamara, and an RBI single by Tom Grycan.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.
Glenn Gang racked up four RBIs on four hits for St. Joseph. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.
St. Joseph easily handled St. George pitching as six hitters combined for 20 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
It didn't take long for St. Joseph to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the first. St. Joseph scored on an RBI single by Gang and an RBI single by Tom Swales.
St. Joseph answered St. George's top inning with two runs of its own in the fourth. St. Joseph scored on an RBI single by Gang and an RBI single by McNamara.
With the score tied at 15 in the seventh inning, walked, bringing home Paul Leso.
Peter Vieites racked up three RBIs on one hit for St. John Paul II.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 35 runs and 33 hits, including 11 extra base hits.
Peter Costello racked up three RBIs on two hits for St. John Paul II. He tripled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
St. John Paul II easily handled St. George pitching as seven hitters combined for 12 hits, 13 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
St. George jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first. St. George's rally started when Robert Zerafa singled. A single by David Eckert then moved Zerafa from first to third. Frederick Wustefeld singled, scoring Zerafa. More runs came home for St. George when Eckert scored on an RBI single by Kevin Coupe, Peters scored on an RBI single by Michael DiBella, and Wustefeld and Coupe scored on a two-run single by Bob Cihanowyz.
St. George quickly matched St. John Paul II's strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the second. St. George scored on an RBI triple by Zerafa and an RBI single by Eckert.
St. John Paul II tallied three runs in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth. In the fourth, St. John Paul II scored on a walk by Jim Killeen, plating Louis Balestriere.
St. George scored seven runs of its own in the fifth. St. George scored on an RBI double by DiBella, an RBI double by Cihanowyz, an RBI single by Bruce Logan, a bases loaded walk by Walt Patrylo, an RBI single by Zerafa, and a two-run double by Eckert.
The seventh spelled defeat for St. George, as St. John Paul II grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on a two-run double by Thomas Ulichny and a two-run home run by Peter Costello.
St. Matthew jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 12-7 to St. Vincent on Thursday.
While St. Matthew led until the fourth inning, St. Vincent worked its way back and took the lead on a two-run double by Larry Szenyi.
Louis Messano was hot from the plate for St. Vincent. Messano went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the third and fifth innings and homered in the sixth inning.
Jeff DiStasi paced St. Matthew at the plate. DiStasi went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.
The top of the first saw St. Vincent take an early lead, 1-0.
It didn't take long for St. Matthew to respond as it scored three runs of its own in the first. St. Matthew scored on an RBI single by Michael McKenna and a two-run single by Pat Nigro.
St. Vincent never trailed after scoring two runs in the fourth on a two-run double by Szenyi.
St. Vincent built upon its lead with three runs in the fifth. A sacrifice fly scored Messano to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Steven Pirella's double, scoring John Junguenet and Pat MacDonnell.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 28 total runs and 31 hits during the game.
Anthony Blasi racked up four RBIs on two hits for St. Wolfgang. He tripled in the third inning and homered in the fifth inning.
St. Wolfgang easily handled St. George pitching as six hitters combined for 10 hits, 12 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
In the bottom of the second, St. Wolfgang grabbed the early lead, 1-0. St. Wolfgang got a spark in the form of a Chris Paterek triple, before before Fazio doubled, bringing home Chris Paterek.
A key fifth-inning rally gave St. Wolfgang the lead for good. St. Wolfgang tacked on a total of 10 runs on two doubles and a two-run home run by Blasi.
St. Joseph jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first. St. Joseph's threat began with a double by Nam-June Joe. Then moved Joe from second to third. Gus Alvarezsingled, scoring Joe. The scoreboard lit up again for St. Joseph when Alvarez scored on an RBI single by Glenn Gang, Warfield scored on a walk by Brendan McNamara, and Gang and Feinberg scored on a two-run single by Garrett Yarnall.
